TRIP is an intermediary platform connecting travelers with local tour guides across Saudi Arabia. These terms govern your use of it. By creating an account, making a booking, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to them. Please read the sections on TRIP's role, bookings, payments, and cancellations carefully — they describe how the platform actually works today.
TRIP's role: an intermediary between travelers and guides
TRIP is an intermediary. We connect travelers with local tour guides — we are not the provider of the guided experience itself, and we are not your guide. The contract for the experience is between you and the guide who delivers it. TRIP's role is to operate the platform that brings the two of you together.
What TRIP does: lists travel experiences, operates the booking and payment flow, verifies accounts, checks guides' tourism licenses with the Ministry of Tourism, reviews and approves guides and their packages, assigns a guide to your booking — and reassigns it to another suitable guide if the original guide cannot cover it — and provides support before and after the trip.
What the guide does: delivers the experience on the ground — the itinerary, the guiding, the timing, and the on-site decisions are theirs. Guides act as independent service providers, not as employees or agents of TRIP.
Some experiences are created by TRIP itself and some are created by independent guides. Every listing shows which, and a guide-created package always remains credited to the guide who created it.
Accounts
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. You must verify your mobile number before you can complete a payment or submit a custom trip request. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that occurs under your account. Changing your password signs you out of other devices.
Traveler responsibilities
- Provide accurate personal, contact, and booking information.
- Observe the conditions attached to the experience you booked, including its date and group size limit.
- Treat guides, other travelers, and TRIP staff with respect.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations of Saudi Arabia, and with site-specific rules at the places you visit.
- Follow reasonable safety instructions given by your guide.
- Not misuse the platform, including by submitting false bookings or attempting to access other users' data.
Guide responsibilities
- Keep your profile accurate and current — your name, contact details, region, biographies, languages, and experience.
- Submit your tourist-guide license number accurately. TRIP checks it with the Ministry of Tourism, and a TRIP administrator reviews your application before your account is approved.
- Hold and maintain every license, permit, qualification, or other authorization required by the applicable Saudi regulations for the tourism services you provide, and tell TRIP promptly if your license is suspended, expires, or changes. Tourist guidance is a regulated tourism activity in Saudi Arabia, and it is your responsibility to satisfy the current requirements of the Ministry of Tourism.
- Describe your packages accurately — itinerary, duration, price, inclusions, exclusions, group size, and available dates.
- Keep your availability up to date in the guide dashboard, so travelers are offered only dates you can actually cover.
- Respond to assigned bookings promptly, and deliver every package and trip you accept as described, on the agreed date.
- Tell TRIP as soon as possible if you cannot cover a trip you have accepted, and follow the reassignment process below.
- Follow the traveler's booking details and the service requirements of the experience, maintain professional conduct, and respect travelers' privacy and safety.
- Use traveler information only to deliver the booked experience, and not for any other purpose.
If a guide cannot cover a trip
Guides are responsible for fulfilling the packages and trips they accept. If you cannot cover a package or an assigned trip, notify TRIP as soon as possible — use “I can't cover this trip” on the trip in your guide dashboard, or write to [email protected].
- TRIP may assign the trip to another suitable guide, selected on the basis of availability, region, languages, and suitability for the trip.
- The original guide must follow the platform's reassignment process: pass on any information the replacement guide needs through TRIP, and not rearrange the trip with the traveler outside the platform.
- Travelers must not be left without coverage because a guide became unavailable — which is why early notice matters.
- Repeated failure to fulfil accepted trips may be handled under these terms, up to suspension or removal of the guide account.
Guide availability
Guides are responsible for keeping their availability accurate. If you become unavailable for a trip you have already accepted, notify TRIP promptly; the reassignment process above then applies.
Guide Commission
Guide commission is the share of the trip price retained by the platform. A commission rate is agreed with each guide and recorded on their account, together with the date it was set and any approved change to it. A guide's rate applies to the trips they complete, unless the platform and the guide agree a different rate for a particular trip, in which case that trip's rate is recorded with the trip, together with the reason for it.
The rate in effect when a trip is completed is recorded on that trip, so later changes do not affect past earnings, and the guide dashboard shows the rate applied to each completed trip, as kept in the trip's record.
Guide approval
A guide signs up with their tourist-guide license number. TRIP checks it with the Ministry of Tourism's licensed-activities inquiry and records the result, but a valid license does not approve an account by itself: a TRIP administrator reviews every application and approves it, rejects it, or asks the guide to correct their license details. An administrator may approve an application after a manual review where the automated check could not confirm the license, and every decision is recorded with its reason. TRIP may re-check a license later; if the result changes, an administrator reviews it. Guide-created packages are reviewed before they are published. Once a package is live, changes a guide submits are queued for review and take effect only after TRIP approves them. TRIP may decline, suspend, or remove a guide account or a package where the information is inaccurate, the required authorizations are not held, or these terms are breached.
Bookings
You select an experience, a travel date, and the number of travelers. Availability is checked by TRIP: for experiences with set dates, only the dates published by TRIP or the guide can be booked, and the group size cannot exceed the published limit. The price charged is the price stored on the listing at the time of booking — the amount is calculated by TRIP, not by your device.
Payment
Payments are processed by our licensed payment service provider on its own secure checkout page. Prices are shown and charged in Saudi Riyals (SAR). Your booking is confirmed as paid only after we confirm the payment directly with the payment provider — we do not rely on what your device reports on return. If a payment is still settling with your bank, your booking will show as pending until it completes. Card details are handled entirely by the payment provider and are never received by TRIP.
Guide assignment
After a booking is paid, TRIP assigns one or more guides to it. An assigned guide may accept or decline. Your booking is confirmed once a guide accepts. If the assigned guide later cannot cover the trip, TRIP may assign another suitable guide and your booking stays in place. If no guide accepts, TRIP will contact you to arrange an alternative or to arrange a refund.
Changes, cancellations, and refunds
You may cancel a booking and receive a full refund provided you cancel more than 48 hours before the start of the experience. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the start time are not refundable, because the guide has by then reserved the date and turned away other work.
To cancel or change a booking, contact us at [email protected] with your booking reference before the 48-hour deadline. Cancellations are processed by our support team rather than through a button in the app, so the time your message reaches us is what counts against the deadline — please allow for that and do not leave it to the last minute. We will confirm the outcome in writing and, where a refund is due, return it to the original payment method. Refunds typically take several business days to appear, depending on your bank.
If TRIP or the assigned guide cancels your booking, or if no guide can be assigned, you receive a full refund regardless of timing. The same applies where the experience cannot go ahead for reasons outside your control, such as a site closure or a safety decision by the guide or the authorities.
Some experiences carry their own cancellation conditions, which are shown on the listing. Where a listing states conditions that differ from the 48-hour rule above, the conditions shown on that listing apply to that booking. Your statutory rights as a consumer under Saudi law are not affected by this section.
Custom trip requests
A custom trip request is a request, not a confirmed booking. TRIP reviews it, sets a price, and asks you to pay only if you accept. No charge is made until you complete a payment for it.
Platform rules
The following are prohibited and may result in suspension or removal of your account:
- Fraud, attempted fraud, or any misrepresentation of identity, qualifications, or an experience.
- Harassment, threats, discrimination, or abusive conduct toward any user.
- Unauthorized access to the platform, other accounts, or data that is not yours.
- Using another user's personal information for any purpose other than the booked experience.
- Any unlawful activity, or use of the platform to facilitate one.
- Interfering with the platform's operation, security, or availability.
Content you provide
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit, including profile details, package descriptions, and special requests. You must have the right to share anything you upload. TRIP may remove content that is inaccurate, unlawful, or in breach of these terms.
Liability
Because TRIP acts as an intermediary rather than the provider of the experience, TRIP is responsible for operating the platform and the booking and payment process, and is not responsible for the manner in which an independent guide performs the experience, beyond our obligations as the platform operator. This does not remove our responsibility to review and approve guides and their packages before they appear on the platform, or to support you if something goes wrong with a booking.
We are not liable for information provided by users, for the services of third parties such as payment or communication providers, or for events outside our reasonable control — including weather, road or site closures, and acts of public authorities. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the applicable laws of Saudi Arabia, including your statutory consumer rights.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using TRIP at any time and may request deletion of your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. Closing an account does not affect bookings already paid for, or records we must retain for legal reasons.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the competent Saudi courts and authorities have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
